Yin yoga is a complementary yoga practice to the more yang experiences such as power and vinyasa flow yoga. It is the approach in yin yoga that is different - some poses are the same, but are held for longer periods, in relative stillness, at a point between edge and ease - with the ultimate goal of reaching deep connective tissues and ligaments of the body. Energy (chi) is also released and circulated throughout the body through this practice and a more inward looking approach is taken - ultimately preparing the mind and body for meditation. Reiki and essential oils will be offered.
Tuesday's 9:30-10:30 AM
Senior friendly, gentle yoga flow class. Props provided and modifications offered to allow for a safe yoga experience in standing, chair and mat based poses. Aromatherapy and soothing music enhance this healing yoga experience.
Wednesday's 1-2 PM
Senior friendly chair yoga Chair yoga is a great choice if you are healing from an injury or prefer the stability of having the support of a chair. Class will be in and around the chair with multiple modifications offered. Essential oils are offered in each class.
Restorative Yoga and Meditation
Thursday's 9-10 AM
Senior friendly, mat based class, focusing on restorative yoga poses and meditation. Restorative yoga poses use many props (blocks, bolsters, blankets, the wall etc) to support the body and allow the mind and body to soften and release held tension. Various meditation practices will be offered throughout this class. Essential oils are also offered.

Nourish yourself this winter with yogic techniques that build resilience and support a healthy immune system. Classes include a fusion of yoga flows, body rolling (using foam rollers or therapeutic balls) and self massage with soothing music, hot rocks and essential oils.

Enjoy this therapeutic, healing and beginner friendly yoga flow class. We will explore various flows, held poses and deep stretches that will leave you feeling open, refreshed and more flexible. Each class will include aromatherapy options and plenty of pose modifications. Each class will be customized for the participants. This semi-private, ongoing class is for CGC members and their guests.
